La La Land
It is obvious, a musical drama.It is a wholesome experience. It kept me intact for few days. If I watch the movie with a girl, i may fall in love crazily.
It is a perfect movie experience, with many features, let me list out the reasons i have.
If we look at its story, simple but very good characterization.
Cinematography combined with music can make you fall in love or at least make you experience feel of being in love. It was excellent. Make the audience feel euphoric out of love. People who get lost in music, forget to follow the character description done in the movie. When the love falls apart, audience may even feel for love failure. Music carries them to various emotions. Reviews based on these, may have arise out of fear of standing odd man out, or carried by emotions. So, your emotions changes your perspective changes and your review changes. What can be the real view or rational view ?
Female lead is desperate for attention gaining, for her, becoming an actress, foremost important thing. She don't live at all. She longs for recognition. She believes that she aspires for her dreams. Dreams here is nothing but recognition While the guy is exactly opposite, he lives for himself, never bother about anybody's recognition. He too has dreams which is to bring a change not recognition. His dreams are more probable to go unnoticed. Meeting him make her feel better, comforting her, in fact motivating her. Suddenly, his life takes up good in a different way, opposite to his dreams, he gets very recognition. She cannot tolerate that. This is obviously known to him. Her puppy love expressions and puppy love promises flies off when she becomes an actress and become like so called successful. What she wants is just recognition or attention. What the male lead does is the life of art, aspiration.
